So I know that I have a million posts to catch up on, but first I want to explain what we've really been up to since Kevin finished flight school.
As many of you know by now, we've been camping out at Kevin's Aunt Patty's house in Potomac, MD. She has been gracious enough to open her home to us in our time of need! For those in my family who don't know Patty (Kevin's dad's sister) and her family, she has three beautiful daughters who are in college now, and a husband who is living and working in Hong Kong. Most of the year she is in Hong Kong with her husband, but around the holidays she comes back to her Potomac house to spend time with the rest of the family.
Kevin, Kerriann and I cannot thank Patty and the rest of the Belchere family enough for their hospitality over the past couple of months. Not having to rent a house temporarily has taken a huge strain off of us financially. Not to mention, we have had a great time visiting with Patty and the girls, Kelly, Katie and Tina. It was so great catching up with each of them while they were home for Christmas break. Kelly will be leaving us this weekend, and Patty will be going back to Hong Kong soon. I'm not sure what we are going to do without them! It has been so great to have the company. It hasn't been easy living in a new area without many friends, but waking up and having them to help keep us entertained everyday has definitely been wonderful!
Kevin has a few job related prospects in the works right now, so we are hoping that he will be offered a full time civilian position in the next couple of weeks. Until then he is going to be working off and on with his unit in Aberdeen, MD starting in the next few days. It's a 90 minute commute, but worth it to get a little income flowing in again!
So that is the short story of what we have been up to the past couple of months. Of course, we did a lot of traveling over Christmas, but it's going to take me a little longer to completely fill you in on all of that!
As usual, I can't close up my post without throwing in a few pictures! Here are some of our first "snow" in Potomac, if you can even call it that. All photos are taken in the Belchere's yard in mid December.
